Coming up: Become GLOCAL Co-creation bootcamp

How can students in Latin America and Europe develop key work skills, while addressing glocal problems in local industries? How do we create space for and dialogue synergy between academics and industry partners from different contexts while designing learning experiences together? And how do we make sure these learning experiences resonate with our different realities?

After six months of preparation, the Become GLOCAL consortium is ready to design three employability courses in co-creation with our industry partners. From 2 to 4 July, a group of 30 academics and industry partners from Chile, Colombia, Spain and the Netherlands are gathering at The Hague University for a co-design bootcamp. In three intensive days, they will work towards blueprints for the courses they will be implementing in the year to come.

Space for horizontal dialogue and co-creation

After a time of online collaboration, academics and industry partners will use the bootcamp to reconnect and exchange the results of the parallel processes they have been working on. On the one hand, three teams of academics have been building up a shared pedagogical framework, which they will apply in mini-lessons aimed at their international, multilingual and interdisciplinary peers. On the other hand, organization have been reaching out to local industries in Colombia, Chile, Spain and the Netherlands to explore key work skills across regions. The outcomes of these discussions will frame the co-design of three employability courses that resonate with the regions’ different needs and realities: one course for students from the Chile and Colombian universities, one for students from Chilean, Colombian and Spanish universities and one for students from Chilean, Colombian and Dutch universities.

On Tuesday 3 July, the consortium invites students and representatives of small and medium companies, multinationals and trade organizations into the design teams to shape these three courses together. Creating space to explore, embrace and incorporate diverse perspectives across the teams will be an essential part of every step of this process. Through this co-creation, we seek to create a platform for horizontal dialogue and collaboration across boundaries with the potential to transform the way in which we see (our roles in) fostering employability skills – and the way in which shape curriculum.

Would you like to participate in this exciting process?

The consortium welcomes colleagues from all universities and (potential) industry partners in all regions to consider their plans and join the discussion. Please read this flyer for more information, or sign up for the event though this link.
